Bricolage avant le cap Horn

Ce week end, Guirec a effectué un check technique global de l’Ultim MACSF afin de s’assurer que tous les feux étaient au vert à l’approche du cap Horn. Il faut en effet écarter tout risque de complication pour être 100% focus sur les manoeuvres.
Ayant constaté une pièce défaillante dans son puits de foil, il a dû bricoler une journée entière pour en fabriquer une de rechange. Tout cela après une nuit blanche à contourner des centaines de bateaux de pêche, autant dire que le week end ne fut pas de tout repos.
Actuellement au large des Malouines, il est déjà en mode « cap Horn » qu’il devrait franchir tard demain soir. La pression monte, c’est la première et la plus mythique difficulté de ce parcours. Il écarte de ses pensées le dernier multicoque ayant chaviré en le tentant dans ce sens. Guirec est plus que jamais déterminé et concentré.
Nous avons tous hâte de le savoir dans le Pacifique. Une fois la longitude du cap Horn passée il faudra cependant composer avec plusieurs dépressions avant de regagner assez de nord pour tourner la page cap Horn.

This weekend, Guirec carried out a global technical check of the Ultim MACSF to ensure that all the lights were green as he’s approaching Cape Horn. He must in fact avoid any risk of complications in order to be 100% focused on the maneuvers.
Having noticed a faulty part in his foil well, he had to build a replacement one for a whole day long. All this after a sleepless night going around hundreds of fishing boats, let’s say that the weekend was not easy.
Currently off the coast of the Falklands, he is already in “Cape Horn” mode, which he should cross late tomorrow evening. The pressure is mounting, it is the first and most legendary difficulty of this course. He dismisses from his thoughts the last multihull that capsized while tempting it in this direction. Guirec is more determined and focused than ever.
We're all looking forward to finding him out in the Pacific. Once the longitude of Cape Horn has passed, however, he will have to deal with several depressions before heading north enough to turn the page on Cape Horn.
