Enfin à l'eau ..Finally afloat !

Dans les starting blocks !!

Bonjour les amis,

Ça y est Romane est enfin à l’eau et je suis dans la dernière ligne droite des préparatifs pour le grand départ annoncé demain, mardi 15 Juin !

Les conditions ne sont pas les meilleures pour le départ, le vent de sud risque de me pousser vers le nord alors que mon but est de gagner le Gulf Stream environ à 200 miles nautiques vers le Sud Est.

Mais les conditions idéales n’existent pas c’est aussi ça l’aventure, il faut savoir larguer les amarres et ne pas prendre trop de retard afin d'éviter de jouer avec la saison cyclonique.

J’ai vraiment hâte d’y être ! Je vais peut-être même croiser le chemin de la baleine qui, à quelques kilomètres d’ici, a avalé un plongeur il y a 2 jours, avant de le recracher indemne ! Une histoire de rencontre marine incroyable comme je les aime !

Romane is finally on the water ! Ready to take off

Hello friends,

That's it Romane is finally in the water and I'm on the home stretch of preparations for the big start announced tomorrow, Tuesday June 15th!

The conditions are not the best for the start, the southerly wind is likely to push me northwards while my goal is to reach the Gulf Stream about 200 nautical miles to the South East.

But the ideal conditions do not exist and that is also an adventure, you have to know how to cast off and not fall too late in order to avoid playing with the hurricane season.

I can not wait to be there ! I might even cross paths with the whale which, a few kilometers from here, swallowed a diver 2 days ago, before spitting it out unharmed! An incredible marine encounter story as I love them!

See you tomorrow around 9am US East coast time to set off First Light Boatworks in Chatham !
